Faces2Hearts in JAMAICA: Eco-tourism in the Cockpit Country!

23 / 02 / 20

While Jamaica might be famed with tourists for its beaches and resorts, in this video we discover the magnificent mountains and rainforest of Cockpit Country, where eco-tourism and community-based tourism is taking centre stage.

We join Cockpit Adventure Tours on their new hiking trail, with their newly trained team, supported by the European Union. Join us as we explore fields of papaya and vegetables, and Hummingbirds and running rivers, learning as we go why the preservation of Cockpit Country through alternative livelihoods is critical. As with much of the world, destruction of natural habitat for financial gain is a huge concern, but as we learn here, there are ways to profit from nature, while also preserving and protecting it for generations to come!
